Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs) are bringing aerial data collection into the future! They serve as a cost-effective and safe alternative to manned aircraft, while providing resolution and accuracy up to 50x that of satellite imagery.
They can be deployed with short notice, while operating at heights from 5 m to 120 m. This allows UAVs to operate in spaces previously not possible, forever changing the way we collect data.
UAVs collect more than just photos!
Solstice utilizes UAVs to collect actionable data and generate high-quality GIS and CAD datasets, with outputs such as:
- 3D Models & Maps
- Digital Surface Models
- Contour/Topography Maps
- Point Cloud Data
- Watershed/Drainage Analyses
- Area/Volume Calculations for Spills & Stockpiles
- Geo-tagged Photos For Record Keeping
- Live-streaming Videos For Stakeholders
- Progress Reports
Solstice is known for its strong safety leadership and culture. Whether working on the ground or flying UAVs in the air, safety is our highest priority!
Our operators hold a standing Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) with Transport Canada, demonstrating a deep understanding of the regulations around the use of unmanned air vehicles.
A SFOC is a requirement to operate UAVs commercially in Canada and allows us to fly without waiting for lengthy flight plan approval’s.
While our SFOC allows us to provide services in a wide range of areas, we always ensure that the flight can be conducted in a safe manner and complies with the rules set out by Transport Canada, before we accept a job.
